LGB is commercial aviation's best kept secret
Whenever I get a chance, I fly out of Long Beach (LGB) instead of LAX. From the easy parking across the 2-lane street to your gate, it's sooooo easy. The longest security line I've ever seen there is maybe 5 people. From your car to the gate is less than 5 minutes.
If you get there a bit early, there are a few very good options for food. Give yourself some time and enjoy LGB. Just don't tell too many people.
