Charles de Gaulle is organized chaos. Terminal 2E for international flights is modern and pleasant. The inter-terminal train connections can be confusing for first-timers. Immigration lines were long but moved. Food options include French specialties though pricey. The RER train to Paris is affordable and convenient. Wi-Fi worked in most areas. Staff helpfulness varied - some excellent, others indifferent. The airport captures the Paris spirit for better and worse.

Better than its reputation

Flew into Terminal 1 from Montreal. The circular design is unique though makes distances deceiving. Immigration moved reasonably well. Baggage claim was efficient. The variety of food improved significantly since my last visit years ago. Staff at information were helpful with train directions. RER to city center is straightforward. Wi-Fi worked adequately. Some areas need renovation but overall functional. Give yourself buffer time for connections.

Transited through CDG multiple times this year. The signage has improved but you can still get lost between terminals. Security was disorganized with confusing queue management. However, the food selection is excellent - actual French pastries and bistro options. Duty-free shopping is extensive. Wi-Fi requires too many steps to connect. Bathrooms ranged from clean to questionable. The airport needs work but has potential.
